Fully Loaded Headcount Cost
A true cost-per-FTE model after on-costs, plus a simple headcount bridge.
It measures fully loaded $/FTE from base, benefits, bonus, and overhead.
Use it to price a hire or restructure on fully loaded dollars, not base salary alone.

Fully Loaded Headcount Cost
True $/FTE (full-time equivalent) after on-costs — plus a simple headcount bridge. Base + super + benefits + bonus + overhead.
Illustrative AU sample until you enter actuals. Not financial advice.
From 1 July 2026 Payday Super is in force — super is due on payday with salary, not in a later quarter. This model still treats super as an annual on-cost % on base (illustrative). Confirm your award / SG and any salary-sacrifice with payroll. Not advice.

Fully loaded $/FTE and team cost
On-cost load on base · closing FTE · annual team cost at closing headcount.
Equations
- Super $ = Base × (Super % ÷ 100)
- Fully loaded $/FTE = Base + Super + Benefits + Bonus + Other overhead
- Closing FTE = Opening + Joiners − Exits
- Annual team cost = Fully loaded $/FTE × Closing FTE
- On-cost load % = (Fully loaded ÷ Base) − 1
- HC bridge $ uses the same $/FTE on Opening / Joiners / Exits (simplified)
Simple headcount bridge
Opening → +Joiners −Exits → Closing. Same fully loaded $/FTE on each step (illustrative).
How this is calculated
- Super $ = Base × (super% / 100)
- Fully loaded $/FTE = Base + Super + Benefits + Bonus + Other overhead
- Closing FTE = Opening + Joiners − Exits
- Annual team cost (closing) = Fully loaded $/FTE × Closing FTE
- Bridge $ = Opening cost + Joiners cost − Exits cost (= Closing), each at the same $/FTE
- On-cost load % = (Fully loaded / Base) − 1
Payday Super note: from 1 July 2026 super is due on payday; this model still uses an annual % for simplicity. Illustrative — not advice.
Sensitivity dials
FTE delta and super % shock — live team cost.
What-if dials
Each dial stacks on your base inputs. FTE delta adjusts closing headcount; super shock replaces the input %.
Adds / removes FTE from closing headcount (what-if team size).
Overrides the form super % for the what-if case only.
